KARUṆĀ
(n.) Karuṇā : Sanskrit for Compassion
How the Practice of Yoga Harmonizes Our 3 Vital Aspects
Body
As you become more in tune with your body you will figure out what movements work best for you. When you are conscious of your body, its needs and limitations, it can help support you throughout your life. The body was built to move and the more we move, the healthier our bodies can be!
Mind
There are numerous types of meditation techniques and approaches out there, many which help to settle the mind. It can be helpful to work with an experienced teacher who can help guide you to a beneficial practice for your specific needs and temperament, but it is also good to explore on your own and see what feels right.
Spirit
The word spirit comes from the Latin word “spiritus” which literally means breath. Our breath connects us to our deeper selves and life itself. It is also the link between the body and the mind, and when these two aspects of us are linked through conscious breath, the Central Nervous System is set for healing on all levels.
