Please note that you MUST preregister for classes at Surya Yoga and it is advised to preregister for classes at the Scottsdale Sound Sanctuary.

Class Descriptions

Gentle Yoga, Restorative and Sound
I invite you to take some time to slow down; to be present with yourself and your breath through gentle movements, restful restorative poses, and sound healing. This class is appropriate for all levels and is focused on seated and floor-based postures. I look forward to supporting you in your self-care.

Gentle Yoga for Wellness with Soundbath
Honor the importance of slowing down in this class that focuses on the breath, gentle movements, embracing silent spaces, and relaxation with sound. This class offers you a chance to step into a place where you can nurture your whole being by becoming more in tune with what you need for yourself. Strengthening the connection to yourself often leads to a more harmonious relationship to everything around you. Appropriate for all levels including beginners.

Relax Town

This gentle and restorative class will give you time to de-stress, unwind, and reset.

The class will include gentle movements to support the body in releasing tightness, along with restorative postures to encourage deep relaxation of the body and mind. Relax Town will also integrate a guided meditation as a means to foster an increased capacity for calm awareness and a present state of being.

This class is appropriate for all levels. Props will typically be used in restorative postures to support physical, mental, and emotional decompression. Sound healing may be used occasionally to deepen mental relaxation.

Slow Flow with Sound Healing

Experience mindfully transitioning asanas (postures) meant to release stress and build body-mind-spirit awareness in this Slow Flow practice. An exploratory warm-up is followed by flowing asanas that dive deep into your embodied experience. This class is soft and smooth yet challenging. Sound healing will be used to create an even deeper integration of bliss.

This is an all levels class, appropriate for beginners and those new to yoga.

Yoga or Restorative Remedies

Taking time to rest and rejuvenate is important and finding ways that work for you is even more important. This class will offer more in-depth guidance with various holistic techniques, restorative poses, and breath work to explore ways in supporting ourselves on an energetic, mental/emotional, and physical level.

Each class will vary. If you have anything specific you would like to explore, feel free to share it with the instructor so it can be worked on in a future class.

Even if all you can do is come and sit or lie
down, please join. You are supported!

Yoga Stretch and Sound

Have you sat for most of the week? Feeling sluggish? Need to have some time to be with yourself and unwind? This class focuses on the connection to your breath, joint releases, and holds for an extended period of time. Which will all be integrated with relaxation and sound.
